A day dedicated to those who have a story in the drawer and dream of turning it into a book. The opportunity will be offered by the creative writing workshop curated by the Calabrian author Domenico Dara and scheduled for Saturday, June 28, from 2 p.m., at the De Nobili Municipal Library in Catanzaro.
An initiative shared by the Department of Culture and part of the collateral activities of the Città di Girifalco Literary Prize, with artistic direction by Dara himself, which offers an important opportunity to promote literary culture in the area and to give visibility to emerging or established writers. The workshop scheduled at the Library will offer the chance to learn some basic notions of creative writing, also drawing from the experience of the author who, with his books, has won the appreciation of readers and critical acclaim. Domenico Dara, after spending his childhood and adolescence in Girifalco, Calabria, studied in Pisa, graduating with a thesis on the poetry of Cesare Pavese. He made his debut with Breve trattato sulle coincidenze, in 2014, a first work that was already a finalist for the Calvino Prize, and awarded the Palmi Prize, Viadana Prize, Corrado Alvaro Prize, and Città di Como Prize. In 2016 he published Appunti di meccanica celeste, followed by his more recent titles Malinverno and Liberata.
