US Catanzaro 1929 announces that it has reached an agreement with Alberto Aquilani, who will be entrusted with the technical leadership of the first team for the next two seasons. Born in Rome in 1984, Aquilani had a brilliant career as a footballer, playing – among others – for Roma, Liverpool, Fiorentina, and Juventus, as well as earning several caps with the Italian national team. After retiring, he began his coaching career, successfully leading Fiorentina's Primavera – with whom he won three Coppa Italia and two Supercoppa in the category – and subsequently Pisa in Serie B in the 2023/2024 season.
