An institutional meeting was held in recent days between the president of AMMI – Association of Italian Doctors' Wives, Catanzaro section – Silvana Aiello Bertucci and the prefect of Catanzaro, Castrese De Rose, dedicated to the delicate issue of assaults against healthcare personnel.
During the meeting, the Prefect – who recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the AOU “Dulbecco” and the Asp of Catanzaro aimed at implementing targeted measures to strengthen the security framework of healthcare facilities – reiterated his great sensitivity and attention to the growing phenomenon of verbal and physical violence involving doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers, recognizing its seriousness and the urgency of a collective response from institutions and civil society.
Silvana Aiello Bertucci highlighted how AMMI has been promoting awareness initiatives for years to protect the dignity and safety of healthcare professionals, in the belief that only through the spread of a culture of respect and legality can a calm and protected environment be guaranteed for both those working in healthcare facilities and for users.
“AMMI stands alongside the Prefect and all institutions,” declared the President, “to contribute to the promotion of fundamental values such as respect for healthcare personnel and the improvement of hospitality towards citizens.”
The meeting concluded with a commitment to develop synergies between institutions and the world of associations to implement concrete projects for information and prevention of the phenomenon.
