Numerous and attentive was the public participation at the presentation of Maria Angela Casaletto's book “Oltre la rete”, a biography of Giorgio Sinatora who passed away three years ago

The event was held on the tennis courts of the Magna Graecia Sport Village in Catanzaro. The choice of location was not accidental but fell precisely on the tennis courts, as they represented for Giorgio Sinatora, a skilled tennis player and tennis coach, his natural habitat. And in particular those of the Magna Graecia Sport Village, managed by one of Giorgio's best students, Vitaliano Lucia, who followed in his master's footsteps by also becoming an equally skilled tennis coach. The actress Anna Maria De Luca read selected passages from the book, which was presented by the author Angela Maria Casaletto, by coach Vitaliano Lucia, and by professional journalist Luigi Stanizzi.
Among the audience were many of Giorgio's friends and relatives, who followed the presentation with keen interest. Stanizzi, as moderator, introduced the proceedings by focusing on the value of books, which do not simply tell stories and events but convey all the emotions that arise "from the vibrant lives of the people who populate the pages."
Books are not inanimate objects but alive, they contain all the emotions, life: love, hate, friendship, sincerity, betrayals, pride, cowardice, shame, debauchery, faith, everything."
He then gave the floor to Lucia who, after the welcome greetings, fondly remembered his coach since childhood.
The author then thanked the audience and Giorgio's closest friends mentioned in the book, whom Casaletto called individually to give them a complimentary copy. The author explained the reasons that led her to write the biography of her partner Giorgio, passing the floor from time to time to actress Anna Maria De Luca who read a few pages from the text: with her extraordinary interpretation she moved the audience. Angela Maria Casaletto also presented some excerpts from the text which were then interpreted by the actress.
During the discussion, Alfredo Silipo, regional secretary of CISL Scuola, spoke: he recounted his experience with Giorgio that went beyond union activity and extended to private life; Luciano Condorelli, cardiologist, recalled his experience of a long friendship with Giorgio with whom he also shared a passion for tennis; Fortunato Saccà, geologist, a friend of Giorgio since childhood who followed the same tennis path and focused on recounting their sporting experiences; Pino Ruggiu, publisher and editorial director of Catanzaro City Magazine, recounted his experience with Giorgio at the tennis courts of the Cammello Grigio in Roccelletta di Borgia, expressing his intention to organize an annual fixed tournament as a memorial dedicated precisely to Giorgio Sinatora; Maria Teresa Mirarchi, retired literature teacher, recounted her experience of school trips with Giorgio; and then the more private one related to illness that allowed her to be close not only to him but also to his partner, Angela Maria Casaletto.
Luigi Stanizzi concluded by taking inspiration from the title of the book "Oltre la rete", making an analogy with "beyond the hedge", and recited the poem "L'infinito" by Giacomo Leopardi, dedicating it to the author of the book.
During the event, the author's older brother, pianist Salvatore Casaletto, delighted those present with his moving musical backgrounds.
