The presentation of the book “Il fragile bullo”
by Rita Tulelli, lawyer and criminologist, published by La Rondine Edizioni, was held with great success and intense participation. An event that
managed to touch deep chords, involving not only the adult audience, but especially children and
young people, the true protagonists of a journey of reflection and awareness. The book, which addresses
the topic of bullying and cyberbullying with delicacy and rigor, has become a point of reference for
numerous Calabrian schools. Its voice has echoed among the desks of the Convitto Nazionale Galluppi in
Catanzaro, the Liceo Classico Galluppi, the Industriale Scalfaro of Catanzaro, the Istituto
Comprensivo Catanzaro Nord Est Manzoni – Mater Domini, and even the Istituto
Comprensivo di Galatro Feroleto e Laureana di Borrello. A cultural and human journey that
managed to create a direct link between young readers and the dramatic but often unspoken reality of
peer abuse. The children listened in silence, with attentive eyes and open hearts, to the
words of the author, who was able to describe bullying not only from the victim's point of view, but
also from that of the bully, who is often also fragile and marked. “Il fragile bullo” is a title that
already contains an important revelation: behind aggression there is almost always pain, a
discomfort, an unexpressed need. During the meetings, many students wanted to intervene,
share their experiences, ask questions, seek answers. Intense, moving moments,
which showed how much the topic is felt, how much young people need
tools to understand and face what happens inside and outside the classroom, even
in the virtual world of social media, where cyberbullying is spreading in increasingly
insidious forms. The initiative showed how the school can be a stronghold not only of education,
but of human formation, empathy, community. Rita Tulelli's book has become in this
context a guide, a means to spark critical thinking, to open a deep dialogue, to
teach that true strength lies in respect, listening, and acceptance. In an era in which
relationships seem increasingly mediated by screens and in which fragility is often disguised as
aggression, this book represents a beacon. An invitation to look beyond, to recognize the wounds that
indifference can inflict and the saving power that a kind word, a gesture of
understanding, an alliance among peers can have. The emotion experienced during the presentation will remain alive for
a long time, in the minds and hearts of those who participated. A strong signal that, with the right tools, it
is possible to build a culture of kindness, responsibility, and courage. Because, as Rita Tulelli writes,
“the bully is fragile only as long as no one helps him to recognize
