Iemma, Battaglia and Costantino: "Our city confirmed within a national circuit"
For the second consecutive year, Catanzaro is preparing to host one of the most anticipated stages of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, a prestigious national event dedicated to sailing, sea culture, and the promotion of the territory. From June 16 to 18, the Porto area of the maritime district will be transformed into a lively and dynamic village, open to citizens, families, sports enthusiasts, and visitors.
“An event that brings together sport, tourism, the local economy, and the cultural identity of our sea, confirming Catanzaro as a point of reference on the national scene,” declare the proposing councillors of the initiative, which will mark the only stop in Calabria: Deputy Mayor Giusy Iemma, Sports Councillor Antonio Battaglia, and Tourism Councillor Vincenzo Costantino, emphasizing the value of the event “not only for the quality of the program, but for the institutional and associative network that supports and animates it.”
"During the three days, sailing regattas, sports workshops, themed meetings, and musical moments will accompany visitors on an experiential journey that intertwines sport, environment, culture, and entertainment. Among the highlights, the Blue Flag ceremony, scheduled for June 17, symbolizing the environmental quality of our coasts, and the Nastro Rosa stage awards ceremony on June 18, with the presence of athletes competing along the Italian coasts."
The Nastro Rosa village will be enlivened by entertainment activities and tastings, thanks also to the collaboration with Fenimprese and the many local economic realities involved. An effort that also sees the involvement of councillors Giuliana Furrer, Donatella Monteverdi, and Pasquale Squillace “for a shared and transversal action in support of the city's productive and cultural fabric.”
There will also be moments of cultural and social insight, such as the talk “In the places of Cassiodorus” on June 16 and the meeting on June 17 on inclusive tourism, “Catanzaro, the sea is for everyone,” to discuss together the economic and social opportunities linked to the sustainable development of our coasts.
Every evening, starting from 7:00 pm, there will be music with a sunset DJ set, while the Trenino del Mare, organized by Amc, will ensure connections with the maritime district, making the experience even more accessible.
The event is organized by Difesa Servizi in collaboration with the Marina Militare and SSI Sports & Events, with the support of ENIT, the Italian Sailing Federation, under the patronage of CONI and the Department for Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
In case of bad weather, some activities may undergo logistical changes.
