As part of the activities of the Catanzaro Traffic Police Section aimed at controlling the transport sector of food substances, last Saturday approximately 55 kg of aged and semi-aged dairy products, presumably intended for sale, were seized. These products lacked the required health and commercial labeling for traceability as mandated by current national and European regulations.
The dairy products were inside a truck that was stopped for inspection on State Road 106 in the Copanello area of the Municipality of Stalettì.
During the checks, the Traffic Police patrol, together with personnel from the Food Hygiene and Nutrition Service of the Catanzaro Health Authority – Soverato District, who intervened at the request of the officers, found administrative irregularities and the absence of the required labeling and documentation proving the origin of the transported dairy products. Once the violation of traceability obligations was established, the transported goods were seized and placed under health restriction, as well as the related administrative sanctions imposed.
The daily commitment of the Catanzaro Traffic Police continues on the roads of the provincial territory to ensure compliance with the Highway Code, guarantee road traffic safety, and carry out checks on goods transport vehicles.
