The situation is worsening in Via Timpone, in the Siano district of Catanzaro, where new episodes of wild dumping of used furniture are being recorded along the municipal road, blocking the pedestrian crossing itself. This uncivil and repeated behavior, despite interventions already carried out by the Local Police, continues to deface the environment and violate the most basic rules of civil coexistence.
The authorities had already intervened previously, issuing the prescribed fines and warning those responsible through targeted notices. However, the situation has not improved: the incivility of some citizens has led to repeated dumping, completely ignoring the warnings and fines already imposed.
Faced with persistent illegality, the Environmental Department of the Municipality, in collaboration with the Environmental Police, will now initiate the necessary procedures to remedy the degradation. Officers from the specialized unit will carry out further inspections, photographic documentation, and again warn those already identified as responsible, regarding the abandoned materials.
"This is not just an aesthetic or health and hygiene problem," commented Councillor Raffaele Serò. "It is a real act of incivility against the entire community and against the city itself."
Councillor Serò renews his appeal to civic sense and reminds everyone that there are free bulky waste collection services, which can be activated upon simple request, without resorting to illegal acts that harm everyone.
Dumping waste is a crime, but above all it is a sign of contempt for the common good. It is time for Catanzaro to be respected by its inhabitants, and for such behavior to be stopped by every means provided by law.
