WHEN TO GO
Catanzaro enjoys a particularly pleasant climate and the summer season practically runs from spring to autumn. The accommodation facilities along the so-called Costa degli Aranci have affordable prices, but expect some increases during the two weeks around Ferragosto. But besides the strictly summer months, we still recommend the month of September, because the heat is much more bearable and the beaches are no longer so crowded. Catanzaro not only has a beautiful and extraordinary coast, because mountain lovers, just a few kilometers from the center, can immerse themselves in the still unspoiled nature of the majestic Sila Park, a mountain resort that offers unparalleled views. If you come on vacation to Catanzaro, in the morning you can swim in the sea, have lunch in the mountains, and in the evening take a stroll in the historic center!

ARRIVING BY PLANE
Catanzaro is served by the Lamezia Terme International Airport, just 28 km from the center and located in the S.Eufemia area of the Municipality of Lamezia Terme. The direct connection is guaranteed by the very convenient 280 expressway (15 minutes by car). The Catanzaro airport is the most important in the region and is connected to the main national and international airports through daily flights. The airport, active since 1976, is the largest airport in Calabria, in terms of passenger numbers (almost 2 million) and destinations, both national and international. Located in a central position in the region as well as in the Mediterranean area, it serves a catchment area of passengers coming from the south of Calabria, while from the north they arrive from the Salerno area and much of Cilento and Basilicata. It is connected by scheduled flights to the main Italian airports.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN
The reference station for those coming from the rest of Italy is Lamezia Terme Centrale, the terminus of the fast Trenitalia Rome Termini/Lamezia T. C.le line. From there you can use the rail connections to Catanzaro Centrale station in the Germaneto area. Those coming from the Ionian Taranto-Reggio Calabria line, on the other hand, must stop at the Lido district station and continue by bus, taxi, or metro.

ARRIVING BY CAR
The Calabrian capital can be reached from the main Italian cities by taking the A3 Salerno-Reggio Calabria motorway, exiting at the "Lamezia Terme/Catanzaro" junction and continuing on the SS 280 "dei Due Mari" for about 30 kilometers. It can also be reached from the Ionian side by taking the SS 106 (E-90) Taranto-Reggio Calabria: those coming from the south, to reach the city center, once at the Lido district, must take the provincial road to Germaneto (9 km) and then rejoin the SS280 "dei Due Mari", direction Catanzaro center (2 km); those coming from the north, at the Lido district loc. Bellino, junction for the S. Maria district, then the "Due Mari" road to Catanzaro center.
