"The Registry Office of the Municipality of Catanzaro is in chaos. In the main office, that of Palazzo De Nobili, citizens face exhausting waits while in the branch office in the marina district not all services are guaranteed." This is what the Forza Italia city councilors, Sergio Costanzo and Alessandra Lobello, denounce.
The city councilors continue: "For many citizens, the Registry services are the main, if not the only, direct approach with the municipal administration, if only because we are talking about essential services. From identification documents in Italy and abroad to the various statuses of citizens, up to those necessary to regulate relations with the local authority. Unfortunately, the current staff organization is extremely lacking. The few available employees try to do their best but the small number prevents a fully satisfactory service. It happens that, in the middle of summer and with extremely high temperatures, those who dare to go to these offices have to wait up to an hour and a half. With extreme situations, such as mothers with very young children (in strollers), whose experience at the Registry becomes a bitter epic. We do not recall historical moments when, to get a simple identity card or a change of residence, one had to wait so long. This is not worthy of a country or a civilized city." Emphasize the Forza Italia councilors.
"Not to mention," they add, "what happens in the branch office in the Lido district. There, unfortunately, we have a 'reduced' service. In the sense that not everything can be guaranteed in the marina district. Therefore, despite the large user base, people are forced to go to the main office in the center. This circumstance (indirectly) causes an overload. As mentioned, at the root there is an organizational defect in the staff that, even today, has not been adequately addressed. We trust in the goodwill of the councilor and the department head to overcome 'environmental contingencies' and to restore as soon as possible the best possible service at the Registry Office of the Municipality of Catanzaro."
