In recent days, the Court of Catanzaro, Second Criminal Section, accepting the proposal of the
Provincial Police Commissioner, ordered the application of the preventive measure of Special
Public Security Surveillance against an individual considered particularly dangerous,
resident in Catanzaro in the well-known district of Viale Isonzo.
The thorough investigative activity of the Anti-Crime Police Division made it possible to highlight the
proven and persistent negative character of the man, only 28 years old, who despite already being
the subject of an Oral Warning order, became involved in further criminal acts.
He, in fact, has several convictions related to weapons and receiving stolen goods and has been
involved in numerous investigations for extortion and drug trafficking. Furthermore, the associations
with convicted individuals that were found, his family ties, and his police record
show that the subject is perfectly integrated into a criminal context and, above all, in the
well-known drug dealing circuit run by the Roma community in the Viale Isonzo area.
The numerous legal cases in which he has been involved over the years, according to the
Court of Catanzaro, are certainly indicative of a marked social danger and,
therefore, it was considered appropriate to subject him to special surveillance by the
public security authorities for a period of three years.
The man was ordered to remain in his municipality of residence, with a ban on leaving the country and
the simultaneous withdrawal of any document useful for this purpose. Furthermore, in order to neutralize his
dangerousness, he was subjected to specific prohibitions and requirements, including the obligation to report
to the Judicial Police, which will allow effective monitoring of him throughout the period of
surveillance.
