He succeeds Giuliana Furrer. "Promoting Calabrian artisan excellence and facing the challenges of the future together, starting with generational turnover"
CATANZARO - Vincenzo Ferraro, owner of a historic ceramics workshop based in Seminara, is the new regional president of the Ceramics category of Confartigianato Imprese Calabria. His appointment marks an important step for the sector and represents the natural continuation of an already strong commitment to enhancing Calabrian artistic craftsmanship. He succeeds Giuliana Furrer, who led the category in the previous term.
"For me it is a great honor and a source of pride to have been appointed President of the Ceramics category – said Ferraro –. I thank you for the trust placed in me and I want to immediately express my total willingness to work at the service of my fellow artisans, facing together the many challenges our sector faces."
Among these, Ferraro wanted to highlight a particularly pressing issue for those working in Calabria: the issue of generational turnover.
"Ceramic craftsmanship is the guardian of ancient and precious knowledge, which unfortunately risks being lost – he explained –. Too many young people leave our land in search of opportunities elsewhere, and this makes it increasingly difficult to ensure generational turnover and the transmission of skills that make our trades unique. It would be an unforgivable mistake to disperse these excellences that tell our story, our identity, and our culture."
Ferraro, who has been committed for years to promoting the quality of Seminara ceramics even beyond regional borders, reiterated his commitment to promoting artisan excellence and enhancing the work and talent of Calabrian artisans.
"I will work passionately to promote the values, products, and traditions of our ceramists. I deeply believe in the value of craftsmanship and its ability to generate beauty, employment, and sustainable development. We will work together – he concluded – to ensure that this wealth is not only protected, but becomes a strength for the future of our region."
