One of the most eagerly awaited events for children and families returns this summer: the Catanzaro Kite Festival, now in its third edition, will take place at Giovino beach on Saturday, July 19, 2025 (from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm) and Sunday, July 20, 2025 (from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm).
A simple and poetic event, which over time has won the hearts of many, turning into an opportunity for socializing, meeting, and sharing. The program includes free kite-building workshops, educational and recreational activities, and of course the evocative collective flight of colorful kites, which will fill the Lido sky with magic and wonder.
“The Kite Festival,” says Nunzio Belcaro, Councillor for Social Policies of the Municipality of Catanzaro, “represents an original and accessible form of social activity, able to connect children, families, educators, and local artists. It is the sign of a city that knows how to play together again, rediscovering community bonds. And it does so in a neighborhood, the Lido, which is increasingly central and strategic for the municipal administration’s policies, both from an urban and social point of view.”
As has been the case for three years now, the initiative enhances one of Catanzaro’s most distinctive natural features: the wind, which becomes a symbolic element and creative tool, able to unite lightness and participation.
The Festival is organized by the Eventi Volanti association in collaboration with the Dune di Giovino Association, as part of the estArte summer festival, promoted by the City of Catanzaro.
