Sellia, 15 years of achievements and funding, even from my own pocket.
Since, a year ago, the new administration of Sellia took office, it has not missed an opportunity to try to denigrate the work of my previous administrations, whose extraordinary results are still visible to everyone. Not everyone, to be honest, but the main institutional figures, yes. Such a debate between two neighboring municipal institutions is not nice. I waited a year to respond precisely for this reason. The first "curious" thing is that directly or indirectly, most of the members of the current administration would have been accomplices in my fanciful misdeeds they talk about. Starting with the Mayor, because in 2019, when I was running and elected for the third term, she was the legal presenter of my list. After 10 years of activity, not at my first candidacy in 2009. I think she knew who she was putting her face to!!! For years, my travel companions in Sellia, with various and important institutional roles, were the mother of the current deputy mayor (councilor), the wife of the current councilor (councilor), the wife of a councilor (councilwoman), the uncle of a councilwoman (deputy mayor), a current majority councilor. It would be enough to ask in the family what I did for Sellia and what should be done now. Far from debts and distress, I personally financed dozens of municipal activities out of my own pocket. The second curious thing is that they talk about Sellia as a municipality without resources, blaming me. Sellia has never had its own resources, so why are you surprised? Besides having found many (over 15 million euros) so much so that Sellia was indicated as the most funded municipality in Italy, I did not hesitate to open my own wallet. Of course, I could afford it. I do not live off politics, being an established and sought-after professional (not for crimes). Let your relatives tell you who paid a thousand euros a year for 4 years for food packages for the needy. The prizes for poets and writers of the festivals carried on for over 10 years. The various buffets. Who paid for the musical groups many times. The civil service projects. The insurance for the Tis, the workers to clean the town when ours were sick. The stay for the American doctors. The Christmas and Easter gifts for our children. The gifts for the elderly. The gasoline to go to the various regional offices (never used the municipal car). I can say that besides having brought Sellia to international prominence (now not even the local press talks about it anymore), and having achieved several administrative records (green ears flag, recycling municipality, smart municipality, museum record, first full LED municipality, first adventure village, most funded village, health village), I did not hesitate to finance it directly when necessary. Far from debts!! I was the first private financier of the Municipality of Sellia. When the municipal coffers did not arrive, I did! The documents are clear. Never an off-balance debt! Rather, I left Sellia with funding and opportunities. Thanks to my work, you were able to travel around Europe (Vienna, Berlin, Lisbon). Could you give the citizens some reports? They were trips for institutional meetings and with citizens who emigrated from Sellia in the original project. You will be able to bring Cavallaro to the 2025 festival. You are restoring the Portabella (and post a photo!), lighting the road from the castle to the park. Maintaining the former nursery, creating a station for charging and renting electric bikes. And this is only part of the Borghi and Cis tenders that I left you to manage, worth over 3 million euros. Maybe you don't report it because you would also have to give credit? Don't worry, I don't need it! Do you want more resources? Work to find them as I did! My visibility was the result of my work and commitment. It was not easy to start from a village of 500 inhabitants and end up on the BBC Home Page! In the best years of my life, I dedicated time and money (mo cce vo!) to always move the town forward and to give a strong shoulder (even as a doctor) to anyone in need. I would do it all again, to be clear. I have no regrets. Whenever you want a public debate, call me, but I know you won't! I wish all the best for Sellia, for its many dear citizens (except for a few ungrateful and forgetful ones). In the meantime, I continue to administer with the same rigor and passion the new community that has now adopted me. Simeri Crichi, as before Sellia. Here the resources are many, but poorly or unused in the past. Someone says that my hand is already visible. My dynamism. My irrepressible desire to do.
