The Chief of Police of Catanzaro issues a detention order for a foreign citizen
irregular in the territory and considered dangerous for public order and safety.
As part of the usual monitoring by the State Police aimed at tracking down foreign citizens
irregular in the national territory, in recent days a Moroccan individual came to the attention of the Immigration Office,
without any documents and considered socially dangerous.
He was, in fact, detained in a provincial prison where he was serving several
sentences for possession and trafficking of narcotic substances and for aggravated theft.
Therefore, at the time of his release, he was taken by officers of the Immigration Office who
escorted him to the Police Headquarters for the usual checks and, given his irregular
legal status in the territory, the Chief of Police of Catanzaro ordered his detention at a
national C.P.R.
The man, considered a threat to public order and safety, was taken to the Center
for Repatriation (C.P.R.) of Pian del Lago in the province of Caltanissetta, pending the
completion of the bureaucratic process that will lead to his repatriation to his country of origin.
