"Forget the Blue Flag! What we saw this morning at the Port of Catanzaro is a slap in the face to the intelligence of the citizens. An event full of environmental slogans and institutional parades, but the reality is plastic, waste, and decay everywhere. A disgraceful calling card."

This was stated by Eugenio Riccio, opposition City Councilor, denouncing yet another blunder by the administration:

"This Council preaches sustainability but can't even organize the cleanup after an event. It's a disgrace."

"We are faced with yet another demonstration of administrative incompetence and total political improvisation by the center-left in the City Council. They talk about 'plastic free,' they tell the green image of the city, yet they are unable to guarantee basic services and control. This is not politics, it's a well-orchestrated farce."

"The Blue Flag is not a medal to be displayed for political propaganda, but a concrete responsibility: environmental quality, waste management, protection of the sea and the territory. If the Municipality is not the first to set an example, every initiative loses credibility."

"Catanzaro and its sea deserve respect. The citizens deserve respect. We need a serious Administration, not those who improvise every day in the Council."

Riccio concludes with a clear appeal:

"We demand seriousness. We demand decency. We demand concrete actions, not empty proclamations. Catanzaro deserves a capable and responsible Administration, not a show of propaganda and improvisation."
