“The new regulation for commerce in public areas has represented another page of good administration that the municipal government has written with the aim of restoring order and transparency in sectors that, for too long, had been lagging behind. Through complex and meticulous work, which saw the Municipality of Catanzaro engage in dialogue with all the other relevant bodies, a plan of clear and up-to-date rules was therefore redefined, passed through the scrutiny of the commissions and then approved by the Council, which will certainly help all the operators involved to work better.

An intervention that will also benefit all users, especially those of neighborhood markets, and which is intended, at the same time, to represent a political vision that Mayor Nicola Fiorita has sought to pursue with his council: to relaunch the identity, traditions, and roots of Catanzaro in all their expressions. And among these, fully included, are also the fairs linked to ancient anniversaries and festivals which, with the new regulation, can be further relaunched and enhanced with the contribution of operators from each sector. A positive achievement, therefore, which is the result of work that began long ago, for which I feel I must thank, for their constructive contribution of ideas and actions, also those who previously led the commission and the Department of Economic Activities, allowing the path completed today to be traced. An act that is a new starting point for the development and experimentation of activities that can bring new life to commerce on public land.”

Note from the President of the Fifth Commission, Vincenzo Capellupo.
