Workplace safety, legality, unfair competition, and the operation of white lists were some
of the topics addressed, Ferrara: "A dialogue with multiple and positive impacts for
the productive sector and therefore for all of Calabria."
CATANZARO – The assembly of Confindustria Catanzaro welcomed the prefect of the
regional capital, Castrese De Rosa. An act not only symbolic, but attesting
to the willingness of Catanzaro's entrepreneurs to maintain a direct and constant dialogue with
the Government's delegate in the area, focusing on collaboration on concrete issues
with a direct impact on the economic and social fabric.
Confindustria Catanzaro, together with many other associations,
institutions, and employers' organizations, recently signed the Pact for Workplace Safety: it was from here
that the discussion began, allowing a detailed look at the critical issues, but also
highlighting the desire to increase ongoing efforts, both by
Confindustria and by the companies, so that training and protection
of workers spreads thoroughly throughout the territory. As for the prefect's analysis,
it focused on the full awareness that often the critical issues and risks
for workers arise in contexts of widespread illegality and on the importance of bringing together
data and information to better combat these pockets of illegality, which not only
put workers at risk but also create unacceptable market imbalances.
Among the topics addressed in the meeting with the prefect was also the "very hot" issue of
the criticalities related to white lists for companies. There is a clear need to reform
the institution so that, from being a tool to support healthy companies, it does not become a limit
to access to contracts and, paradoxically, a limit to the development of collaborative relationships between
companies in the South and North.
"I am grateful to Prefect De Rosa for having accepted our invitation with true enthusiasm and a spirit of
collaboration," said Aldo Ferrara, president of Unindustria
Calabria and Confindustria Catanzaro. "His physical presence and, above all, the
real closeness he demonstrated with his institutional sensitivity to the issues
addressed, give us the awareness that we have started a dialogue with
multiple and positive impacts for the productive sector and therefore for all of Calabria."
The prefect himself, at the end of the assembly, published a comment on his
social profiles: "We talked about young people, the shortage of labor, including intermediate and managerial profiles, legality and unfair competition, workplace safety, certainty and timeliness in relations with the public administration. It is
increasingly necessary to have an action of support, accompaniment, and construction
of a public-private network through a leadership class aware of the new
challenges and able to respond ever more effectively to the needs of
entrepreneurs in a globalized market."

silence in memory of friend and colleague Cesare Cristofaro, who passed away a few
days ago.
