The official statements of US Catanzaro on the signing of Marietta, Alesi and Frosinini
US Catanzaro 1929 announces that it has acquired the sporting services of goalkeeper Christian Marietta, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2028. Born in 2002, originally from Ciriè (TO), Marietta arrives in yellow and red after a two-year experience with Albinoleffe, a club with which, in the last championship, he collected 41 matches and 15 clean sheets, contributing to achieving fourth place in Group A of Serie C. Raised in the youth sector of Alessandria, it was here that he debuted in Serie C (2022/2023), recording 21 appearances between the league and Coppa Italia. Previously, he had played in Serie D with Caronnese and Rimini. In the 2023/2024 season, the move to Albinoleffe, where he established himself as one of the most interesting profiles in the category.
US Catanzaro 1929 announces that it has secured the sporting services of the young playmaker Gabriele Alesi, who has signed with the yellow and reds until June 30, 2028. Born in 2004, Alesi trained in the Milan youth academy and last season wore the shirt of “Milan Futuro”, in Group B of Serie C. Introducing himself to the microphones of the club's social channels, Alesi explained that he considers himself «a more offensive than defensive player. I can play in midfield, but during last season I covered several roles: from winger to fifth, a real joker. Basically, though, my nature is that of a player inclined to attack». Behind him, as mentioned, an important experience in the Milan youth academy: «I spent six years with the Rossoneri, moving from the youth sector to the Primavera up to the Under 23. A long and formative journey, which left me a lot on a professional level». Decisive, in choosing Catanzaro, was the emotional impact with the environment: «As soon as I heard of Catanzaro's interest, I had no doubts. We're talking about an exceptional place, with passionate fans: it was an immediate decision». An impression reinforced by the stories of those who have already experienced yellow and red: «Everyone I spoke to told me great things about this reality: the warmth of the fans, the city, the serenity you feel. I couldn't have asked for better». Finally, a direct thought to the yellow and red people: «I'm ready to give everything for this shirt and for the fans. I want to repay the trust on the field, with commitment and dedication».
Ruggero Frosinini is a new player of US Catanzaro 1929. The defender has signed a contract with the Eagles that binds him to the yellow and reds until June 30, 2028. Originally from Orvieto and born in 2001, Frosinini began his career among amateurs in Tuscany, wearing the shirt of Lornano Badesse. After just one season, he made the leap to professionals by joining Serie C with Piacenza. He later wore the Albinoleffe shirt. In the last two seasons, he played a leading role at Trento, contributing decisively to the yellow and blues' qualification for the playoffs. «When I found out that among the interested teams there was also Catanzaro – he said in his first interview for the US social channels – I pushed hard to come here. I was really happy at the idea of wearing this shirt». Looking back on his experience at Trento – where he was awarded as the club's best player – the defender defines it as “fundamental”: «probably without those two years I wouldn't be here today. I have to thank all the coaches I had in that journey and director Giorgio Zamuner. Five or six years ago I would never have imagined being able to play in Serie B. I was in Promotion, then I climbed the ranks year after year. Now I'm here and I don't intend to stop. I will continue to work hard, then we'll see where I get». From a technical point of view, Frosinini presents himself as follows: «In the last two years I have played as a full-back, and I think that's my ideal role. I like to push forward, but when it's time to defend and face one-on-ones, I'm ready». Curiously, fate brings him back to Trentino, where Catanzaro will hold its pre-season training camp. «Yes, it almost seems like destiny to return to that region with the eagle on my chest, but now I look ahead. I don't think about what happened with Trento, now I focus on the present and what awaits me here in Catanzaro». Frosinini is already well aware of the importance of the place and its fans: «I know the fans are very passionate, and that's also one of the reasons that pushed me to make this choice. The rest I will discover by living these three years here. I'm ready».
