“The attention that the municipal administration is giving to the neighborhoods has had another visible sign with the works concerning the securing of the retaining wall in via Sorrento in the Fortuna district. The dangerous situation had been known for some time, with the structure deteriorated and showing the signs of time with all the resulting dangers also for traffic along the road. The administration, thanks to the commitment of Mayor Nicola Fiorita and the work of Councillor Pasquale Squillace and the technical offices, has therefore started the intervention using available funds from Civil Protection for the mitigation of hydrogeological risk. A complex project, both in the preliminary phase and in the executive one, which requires adequate timing to be able to carry out a work according to the rules of art and able to withstand in the long term. The machinery is now at work to carry out all the operations that will allow the restoration of the wall. In short, an important objective for the administration, which I have personally helped to follow in these months, and which I am sure will be particularly appreciated, when it is completed, restoring decorum and safety to the affected area of Fortuna.”
