DUCIAMARA is out today, the first single from the new Parafoné album expected in autumn.
“Duciamara” talks about the impermanence of things and the constant changing of the world around us.
The relentless passage of time, of nature and of people, their eternal moments and the mutability of everything.
Outside of illusion there is a love that ends, a light that goes out and a point of reference that is lost, leaving us helpless and bewildered.
Sweet and bitter moments intersect and follow one another, often regardless of our will, going beyond any idea of planning; the only way forward is acceptance, living in the present for better or worse, aware that under this sky, since the dawn of time, this is life.
A journey between sweetness and bitterness, between roots and new visions. "Duciamara" is our next step, a song that tells the essence of who we are and where we come from. Life turns and time inevitably passes... slow and steady.
DUCIAMARA heralds a new path that speaks of tradition and innovative sounds! A journey undertaken with the collaboration of Mauro Menegazzi, a great musician and professional who joined the band and management in the artistic production of the entire album. Mauro is an accordionist, sound engineer, sound designer, and artistic producer. His musical experiences have led him to be influenced by Folk, particularly Folk from the southern hemisphere. He immediately became passionate about Astor Piazzolla's tango and in the 90s formed a quartet, “Quartettango”. In the 2000s he collaborated with a group of Argentine brothers, the Farias, with whom he made three albums as a sound engineer and arranger. He collaborates with various artists, both on records and live, such as Daniele Silvestri, Mannarino, etc. With Mannarino, in addition to playing live, he recorded 3 albums and participated in the arrangement of the songs Al Monte, L'Impero, and Vivere la Vita. He currently collaborates with Simona Sciacca, Lavinia Mancusi for whom he produced the album “A Cruda Voz” in 2024, and with composer Paolo Buonvino with whom he is bringing his soundtracks live.
An important collaboration that consolidates the idea of the band and Calabria Sona to project the music born in Calabria towards an international territory and linked to world music. A new step towards a vision, that of Parafoné, which over the years has established them as a point of reference in southern Italian music and has allowed them to accumulate significant experience in the event circuit and record production of the genre.
The new song is accompanied by a video clip made with the collaboration of Ivan Reale, directed by the same producer Giuseppe Marasco, and which bases its narrative precisely on the elements of the song, between innovation, tradition, and the “impermanence” of everything.
