Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 24, at 9:00 a.m., the “Salvatore Venuta” Campus of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro will officially host the 9th MAORI Aortic Symposium – Magna Graecia Aortic Interventional Project, one of the most important scientific events on the national medical scene in the field of aortic diseases.
Now in its ninth biennial edition, the event, conceived in 2009, is confirmed as a point of reference for the national and international scientific community. The almost 500 pre-registrations already recorded and the usual increase in participants in the hours immediately preceding the opening suggest a large turnout of professionals in the field, including professors, researchers, specialist doctors, healthcare workers, and young people in training.
The Symposium, under the direction of Prof. Pasquale Mastroroberto, Full Professor of Cardiac Surgery and Director of the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the “Dulbecco” University Hospital, is organized into six thematic sessions spread over two working days, with a rich and highly specialized scientific program.
The first two sessions are dedicated respectively to perfusion staff and nursing staff, while the following sessions address in depth the main aortic diseases: aortic valve, root, aortic arch and thoraco-abdominal aorta. Ample space will also be reserved, as in every edition, for pediatric and congenital cardiac surgery, with a specific session featuring internationally renowned experts.
Among the most anticipated events is also the ECMO practical workshop – Best Practice Exchange, scheduled for the afternoon of June 24 in a specially equipped room dedicated to advanced simulation.
The event will open with greetings from the Rector of Magna Graecia University, Giovanni Cuda, and the extraordinary commissioner of the “Dulbecco” Hospital, Simona Carbone, as a testament to the close synergy between the academic and hospital worlds in promoting specialist training and clinical research.
