“The method and objectives of this Administration in carrying out its governance of the city are well represented by the '1st XC Pineta Siano', the fifth and final round of the 'XCalabra Cup 2025 Mountain Bike Trophy', organized by ASD Swattati Team Catanzaro under the direction of the Italian Cycling Federation - Calabria Committee.”
This is stated by the Councillor for Sport, Antonio Battaglia, who highlights how “this result was made possible thanks to the teamwork carried out with my colleagues Vincenzo Costantino, my counterpart for Tourism and Youth Policies, Irene Colosimo with the Environment portfolio, and Giuliana Furrer, responsible for Economic Activities, all of whom, like me, were supported by the structures of their respective Departments. Not to forget the valuable collaboration constantly offered by Councillor Alberto Carpino. Working in synergy with the Swattati Team Catanzaro Association has allowed us to start a path of good collaborative practice between institutions and citizens. Alongside the significant sporting relevance of the event, which will take place on Sunday, July 6, an important milestone is being marked,” Battaglia continues, “in the process of revitalizing and enhancing the Bosco Li Comuni, rewarding the enormous efforts made to remedy the damage caused by the fire that had seriously compromised it. Enjoying such an impressive and beautiful place, even through the practice of this sport, is an opportunity the city must seize. The race course and the competition area,” concludes the Councillor for Sport, “have all the characteristics to become a point of reference for the mountain bike world even beyond our borders and, of course, we are continuing our collective work to evaluate tools and methods to make this happen.”
