"There is an unresolved issue in the administrative apparatus of the Municipality of Catanzaro and today, considering the developments in the matter of the port piers, further questions arise. We are talking about the head of the Heritage sector who, last April, received approval for her request for unpaid leave for the next three years. There is nothing to object to regarding the procedure or the right of the person concerned to make use of a right provided by law, but some doubts arise about the timing of this personal decision. I don't want to think badly, but I fear that behind this choice there may also have been reasons related to alleged incompatibilities with the councillor in charge or with the mayor in a sector that, over the past year, has seen several ongoing proceedings from which some hot potatoes have emerged for the administration. Was it the disagreements with those who took over the political leadership of the heritage sector that led to the manager's 'escape'? Are the implications related to the piers affair, which began with the famous decision to revoke the concession to Carmar, or situations resulting from other Heritage practices, involved? I suspect that, behind a legitimate personal choice, there are other reasons connected to the very close relationship between the political and managerial spheres, a grey area at Palazzo de Nobili that always has rather undefined boundaries and on which clarity should be shed out of respect for the citizens and all the operators."
