CATANZARO – 13 JUNE 2025. Last Friday marked the conclusion of the training course promoted by the Catanzaro Police Headquarters as part of the CUAV project (Center for Men Perpetrators of Violence), carried out in collaboration with the Calabrian Center for Solidarity ETS, chaired by Isolina Mantelli. An initiative of great value, made possible thanks to regional funding, which represented an important step forward in building shared strategies for the prevention and fight against gender-based violence.

The course, which officially started last April 18, was part of the ZEUS Protocol, an innovative tool that allows the warning issued by the Chief of Police to be accompanied by accountability programs aimed at men who commit violence. A model that puts prevention at the center, through integrated work between law enforcement, local services, and third sector organizations.

At the conclusion of the activities, the Calabrian Center for Solidarity ETS wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to Chief of Police Giuseppe Linares for the energy, vision, and sensitivity with which he shared this training journey, helping to strengthen the alliance between institutions and civil society. Thanks also go to the head of the Anti-Crime Police, Domenico Minniti, for the time and availability dedicated, as well as for the ability to build an open and operational dialogue among the various professionals involved.

During the course, crucial topics were addressed: from the preventive function of the warning to managing the relationship with the victim, up to the centrality of education for relational well-being as a lever for change. High-level contributions, such as those from Rosaria Di Blasi, head of the Mobile Squad, inspector Marco Lamanna, and Cristina Marino, contact person for the Center for Men Perpetrators of Violence, helped to build awareness, skills, and connections.

"Violence against women is not a women's problem, but a collective responsibility. If we really want to prevent it, we must act earlier and together," President Mantelli emphasized at the opening. And it is precisely in the ability to network, to share tools and languages, that the strength of this project lies, which does not stop here but will continue with new training and discussion opportunities.

The Calabrian Center for Solidarity ETS renews its commitment to walk alongside institutions, to help build a culture of respect, care, and non-violence.
