Great success for the first Master for the Youth Sector held in
Catanzaro and promoted by Fip Calabria and the National Coaches
Committee. An initiative strongly desired by the head of the Calabrian Cna,
Simona Pronestì, who worked closely with the Cna Commission composed of national trainer Gianni Tripodi and
regional trainer Angelo Salerno. With a precise goal: to offer
coaches updated tools to increase technical,
tactical and methodological skills, fundamental for working on the physical,
mental and sporting development of young athletes.
“This Master was created to respond to the strong need for ongoing training
for coaches working with the youth sector,” said Simona Pronestì, president of Cna Calabria. “Calabrian youth basketball
needs increasingly prepared coaches who are able to
intervene in every aspect of the game. At the end of August there will be a
second module and we have other projects and surprises in the pipeline. Our
hope is that this will be just the first edition of a path destined to
last over time.”
“With the Cna Commission,” emphasized national trainer
Angelo Salerno, “we are trying to give new momentum to
Calabrian basketball. The Master was a valuable moment of
discussion and growth, and represents the beginning of a journey that we hope will
consolidate over the years.”
On the same wavelength, Pasquale Motta, who described the project as “a
highly specialized Master, able to offer participants the opportunity
to improve their technical skills. Thanks go to
Simona Pronestì for the idea and to president Surace for making
this important educational experience possible.”
“The Master was conceived and designed together with Fip and Cna,”
explained Gianni Tripodi, “and is taking place for the first time in Calabria. The
true goal is not just technical training, but the growth of the kids
through work on fundamentals, adapted to modern basketball. Fip
Calabria is doing fundamental work to stimulate and awaken
the daily activity of coaches, putting young people at the center and not
just victory.”
Maurizio Messina, methodology expert and professor at the University
of Catania, was also enthusiastic: “The impressions are excellent, the participants were able to work
with trainers of great experience. It is a very interesting initiative:
today more than ever, coaches need ongoing training to
accompany the development of players capable of facing the demands of
modern basketball.”
Stefano Bizzozi, national trainer and head coach of Fulgor Fidenza, also expressed his appreciation:
“I always return to Calabria with great joy. This Master is a great opportunity not only
to train, but also to exchange ideas: not only for those who participate, but
also for us trainers. It is essential to help the youth movement grow.
A project that represents a common thread between the Federation,
Committees, Cna, coaches and all those who love basketball.”
The president of Fip Calabria, Paolo Surace, instead commented
as follows: “The launch of this Master is a fundamental step for the future of
our movement. We have believed in this project from the very beginning,
because we are convinced that only through the quality of
the training of our coaches will we be able to continue to grow
Calabrian basketball and produce new talents.”
